An Open Invitation to Our Neighbors

In the weeks ahead, tens of thousands of people will become aware of our organization and this website, and we wanted to provide some context on the upcoming events we are planning to host. Our intention is to provide the platform for the kinds of discussions that are simply not being had in our community, both on the city and county level. These discussions are intended to be a resource for everyone who wants to learn more about a variety of topics and hear directly from the thought leaders, specialists, candidates, and general public about the issues and events that affect us all.

Our first event will be held on Friday, September 13, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn in Bozeman. There is no cost to attend. The event is focused on the upcoming government study and will feature Dan Clark, Director of MSU’s Local Government Center and specialist on the topic, and the candidates who are running for both the Bozeman and Gallatin County study commissions. The event will be town hall-style, where those in attendance will hear a brief presentation on the topic, meet the candidates, and be able to ask questions to both the candidates and topic specialist. All candidates are invited to be a part of this event; we just ask for them to send us an email to confirm their participation. The entire event is being funded by donations from local citizens who are giving their time, talents, and at times, treasure, toward bettering our community. It is truly unfortunate that we are living in a community where neighborhoods have to defend themselves against their own city commissioners and that groups like ours must exist in order to bring focus to topics that truly matter and to provide solutions where there are none from the existing leadership. The local government study is a starting place to finding solutions that represent us all, and that is why there is an open offer for every candidate to participate and every citizen who wants to attend this free event.

If you are a candidate and choose not to attend and let your voice be heard, that is entirely up to you. We hope to have a full room with every candidate on stage and an informative discussion led by our local resource and highly qualified subject expert, Dan Clark. As an organization, we are excited to be able to offer this, and we have several more events like it planned. We hope to see you there.

Seating is limited, so to guarantee your spot, please RSVP at https://forms.gle/ySsn9u3vuQemCgjq8. Candidates, please send an email to info@thegvsentinel.com to confirm your attendance.

Thank you for providing this opportunity! The local government study commissions create a great opportunity for people to speak up about how they are represented and governed. I look forward to meeting you all!
